STILL no news. I wish I could say I'm surprised at this, but I'm not.
I went to the "beach" today. Technically it was the shores of the Chesapeake Bay but it was still relaxing but HOT HOT HOT. I only lasted an hour and a half before the heat drove me indoors.
I work in an hour and a half. Dinner time, now.

Happenings and such
I'm still not 100% better but I would venture to say 70-75% better than Memorial Day Weekend. Man, this virus has some stayin' power. I had even planned on venturing out to the beach today but the rainy weather thwarted that plan.
My Plantar Faciitis kept getting more and more painful so I finally buckled and went shoe shopping. Adam and I went all over Hampton Roads comparing prices and comfort level and although I didn't find any slip-resistant work shoes, I found a great pair of Asics to wear the rest of the time. They're ridiculously comfortable, they've got Gator colored stripes AND they were 20% off (at the NEX, which also means no sales tax!!). Believe it or not, this is the first pair of supportive, "tennis shoes" I've owned in almost a decade! (THANK YOU, GJ!!!)
:)
As part of my self-improvement plan, Adam and I have been trying to get outside and be more active. This has led to lots of twilight bike rides. Side note, I didn't realize how terribly out of shape I am! The shoes are a nice touch, though. No more bike riding in flip flops for me! Plus, coming around the corner at the end of a ride to see our street illuminated with fireflies is really cool. (People still say "cool", right?)
Adam is supposed to find out the final results of his board on Monday. Of course, if you've been following this little saga, you know that he's been told this a few dozen times. As a matter of fact, Adam was supposed to find out his results on Friday but they postponed the deadline yet again. I think we're both ready to just know SOMETHING. The anxiety has been slowly building and it's just about reached the tipping point. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes!
Happy Birthday to my wonderful, charismatic mother. She's turning 29 (with experience) today and I'm wishing I could be in Jacksonville to help her celebrate! I love and miss you momma!

Recovery
Because I am technically a "new patient" at my primary health care provider, she isn't able to see me until July 7th. I decided to make an appointment with a naval facility but they all require a referral from my primary doctor. Not wanting to wait two months Adam and I loaded up and headed to Portsmouth's Naval Hospital ER (on Monday) to have the doctor tell me that I have a virus and, unfortunately, there was nothing stronger he could prescribe. Recovery is finally in sight!!! I'm still pretty gross looking and I cough a lot but the 800mg Motrin and tiny, yellow cough suppressants have been helping me for a week now. Poor Adam has been such a trooper but I can tell the wasted Memorial Day weekend got to him as much as it did me. Luckily, I'm (slowly) getting better and I will be returning to work tomorrow!! WOoo! I'm ready to make some money.
Because we missed our Memorial Day Vacation, I'd really love to go somewhere awesome for our 1st anniversary. I already took the whole week off I just PRAY Adam's schedule is as flexible. I think a cruise would be wonderful but I'm not picky.
Still no word with Adam. No clue where we're going or how much longer we have to wait. According to a friend, the board has 14 business days to make a decision. Adam's on day #9. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
Staying in the house is driving me nuts. I think I'm going to run to the grocery store/post office to see something other than these walls.
