After waiting forever (I'm not exaggerating; it's nearly been a year) we had discovered that Adam will remain in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) on the USS Porter here in Norfolk. FINALLY! This means we can continue house shopping and I can start back to school this Spring. There's no news yet of when the ship deploys (the Navy doesn't like to make that knowledge public so far in advance) but the good news is that it's in port right now! Adam will switch commands after the end of the month and hopefully he'll get to stay through Florida-Georgia, Thanksgiving, his birthday, and Christmas...all coming up before the end of 2011.
Even better news, today I am submitting my TWO WEEKS NOTICE at RR. At first, I felt guilty but Adam quickly helped me get over that explaining the need for me to have a secure, well-managed future is more important than a job that treats me like garbage. This is square one and I am ready. Of course this means, I'm going to make Bravo my full-time, albeit- not forever, gig.
The weekend is near. Fall is here. I have a fantastic weekend planned with the man I love and friends I adore, listening to the soulful country music of the beloved Zac Brown Band. Life is good.
