Adam and I were lucky enough to have a day off together this week. (Sadly, it doesn't happen every week due to our crazy schedules.) Sunday we went to Harbor Park in Norfolk and toured Nauticus, the Norfolk Naval/Port Museum. Adam was as excited as a five year old because he had never been before. The museum admission included access to tour the USS Wisconsin, a decommissioned battleship(?) built in the 50s(?). We were able to go on the ships and look around but I'm starting to feel like once you've seen one ship, you've seen them all. Adam seemed to enjoy himself, though. Afterwards, we went a couple blocks over and had lunch/dinner in the mall food court and watched a movie. We walked the dogs later and I may or may not have forced Adam to watch Ms. USA with me.
Today consisted of errand running, crafting (for a little bit), and getting new chevron stationary. Not so eventful. Sidenote: Why does NO ONE have cute July 4th decor?! It's either really cheesy looking dollar store garbage or adorable yet unnecessarily expensive Pottery Barn treasures. #firstworldproblems
I have extreme monthly cravings. Oh the joy of being a girl! But seriously, when I say EXTREME cravings, I mean it. If it's that time of the month, my face melts off and I turn into a Choco-saurus Rex shoveling mass amounts of cocoa-products into my mouth as fast as possible. The best thing I've found to eliminate this craving are the chocolate chip cookies from Chik-Fil-A. Warm and gooey, slightly underdone and LOADED with chocolate. Ah, perfection. Of course when eaten with a meal, you might feel like death afterwards soo...don't say I didn't warn ya!
NEWS: Because of our leaky roof/faulty flashing, our big anniversary vacation to Sandals has been scaled down to a week in the Keys. Although I'm disappointed about the way things worked out, I couldn't be happier than to be planning a trip to Florida. I miss it so much and Adam and I had a BLAST in Key West last year. Any travel advice/favorite restaurants/exciting day trip destinations are more than welcome. Thank you to everyone who continues to morally support us through this TRUE experience of home ownership. Your kind words and encouragement mean more than you know!
It's about to rain so the dogs and I are going to go snuggle under a blanket in the movie room and watch some boring afternoon tv...and hopefully fall asleep!
